Overview

About TMS

Transportation management is a B2B SaaS platform for end-to-end logistics, from planning trips and assigning vehicles to live tracking, border clearance and cargo delivery.

The product was built for four user types, each with their own workflows: business owners running logistics companies, dispatchers and managers planning operations, drivers performing trips on the road, and customers shipping cargo.

Designed across web, mobile and tablet, with a separate Arabic (RTL) version for regional markets.

  • Hands holding a phone with the TMS trip information screen
  • Person using a laptop with the Iraq Transportation Management System website
  • Operator at a desktop computer working with the Vehicle object table.

As Team Lead

Led a team of 3 designers across two parallel products. I ran hiring (brief templates, screening, offers) and onboarding (defined responsibility zones, 3-month goals, mentorship).

Shaped the design strategy for both products each quarter: priorities and growth areas for the team. Ran a competency matrix and regular 1-on-1s, tailoring growth to each designer’s strengths and gaps.

Team development: 360 feedback every 6 months, weekly knowledge-sharing sessions where each designer presents a topic, daily standups, per-product design sessions and a performance development plan for each designer.

  • Onboarding

Structure for the first 3 months

Onboarding board: goals, a plan for the first 3 months, and sticky notes for before day one, week 1, weeks 2 to 4, month 2, month 3 and check-ins.
  • Competency matrix

Growth levels from Junior to Director

Competency matrix: skill levels for General, User Experience and Leadership areas across IC1–IC5 and ML3–ML6 grades.

Web

A web platform for dispatchers and business owners: trip planning, live tracking, border clearance and cargo control.

  • TMS home page: Iraq Transportation Management System hero with trip ID search and four service cards.
  • Find a border gateway location: list of gateways, a detail card with photo, address and border route, and a map.
  • Search Trip ID: map with the truck route and a side panel with driver, truck and route details.
  • My account, My reservations: transit trips with statuses Rejected and Approved and actions Edit and To pay.
  • Arabic right-to-left version of the My reservations page.

Internal System

An internal ITMS for company staff: one workspace for fleet management, vehicle statuses and daily operations. Full web interface built on the shared design system, focused on speed and ease of daily work for operators.

  • Internal system, Vehicle object table: brand, model, car ID, trailer, plate number and status for each vehicle.
  • Internal system live map: truck route through Baghdad with vehicle, trip, arrival, device and warning details below.

Mobile App

The web product adapted for mobile, with different user roles inside one app. Users can browse transport, add their own vehicles, track trips, set routes and manage operations from their phone.

TMS mobile app screens: reservations, trip ID search with QR code, live map, trip timeline with alerts, border gateway search and trip history.
